Etz Chaim by Rabbi Chaim Vital, printed in Lviv, 1864 - Sefer Pri Etz Chaim by Rabbi Chaim Vital was printed in Lviv in 1864.  The saintly Mekubal Rabbi Chaim Vital was a great student of the holy Ari. He was born in Tzfas, which was a spiritual center for many tzadikim at that time. Rabbi Yosef Karo, Rabbi Moshe Cordovero, Rabbi Shlomo Alkabetz, and Rabbi Moshe Alshich were all involved in the leadership of the city. Rabbi Chaim Vital learned from Rabbi Moshe Alshich and received Semicha from him. He then continued to learn his holy studies in the Beis Midrash of Rabbi Moshe Cordovero.
