Sefer Toldos Adam of Rebbi Moshe Dovid Ashkenazi of Tolchova-1845 - The Sefer Toldos Haadam, which discusses the sugyos of Shas (Talmud), was written by the genius Rabbi Moshe David Ashkenazi. It was published in Jerusalem in 1845 by Rabbi Yisrael B”K, who was a student of Rabbi Yisrael of Ruzhin and Rabbi Levi Yitzchak of Berditschov. Rabbi Moshe David Ashkenazi was the author of ”Toldos Adam” and ”Be'er Sheva”. He was also the father-in-law of the Rabbi ”Yetev Lev” from Sighet and the father of Rabbi Yoel Ashkenazi of Zlotsov. When he was young, he was already accepted as the Rabbi of the city of Toltshova, where he served for about forty years. In 1844, he immigrated to Tzfas and was one of the founders of the Chasidic settlement there. Shortly after he arrived in Eretz Yisrael, he published his book in Rabbi Yisrael B”K's press in Jerusalem. Rabbi Moshe David Ashkenazi wrote the book when he was in his thirties. Rabbi Yaakov of Lisa, the author of ”Chavas Da'as”, was a friend of his and praised the sefer in glowing terms. Very good condition. Small tears on the title page. Simple cover.
