Tudor Statuette of a Scholar - 16th century AD A substantial bronze figure seated on a curule chair; the long hair tied at the back, long draped robes with sash across the chest; right hand held forward with open fingers, a scroll in left hand supported by a spigot attached to the arm of the chair; hexagonal base with dimple to the underside. 755 grams, 12.5cm (5”). Fine condition. Provenance Property of a UK gentleman; formerly in an old German collection; acquired in the 1980s.
