Medieval Silver 'Baniska Treasure' Type Twisted Bracelet - 13th century AD A silver bracelet formed from hollow silver rods twisted about each other with decorative twisted wire; flared hammered terminals with applied silver studs and plaited wire to the outer edge, large applied silver sphere above the terminals. 30.5 grams, 71mm (2 3/4”). Fine condition, repaired. Provenance Property of a South London collector; previously acquired on the European art market 1970-1980. Footnotes Five similar bracelets, five rings, two earrings and a necklace were discovered in the area of a medieval fortress near the village of Baniska, Bulgaria.
