Western Asiatic Haematite Elephant Amulet
1st millennium BC
A carved haematite amuletic pendant of an elephant with incised rib detailing to the trunk and ears; pierced vertically for suspension. 46 grams, 39mm (1 1/2"). Fine condition.
Provenance
The Signo collection, the property of a West London businessman, formed in the late 1980s-early 1990s; academically researched and catalogued by the late Professor Lambert in the early 1990s.
