Roman Pomegranate Chariot Fitting Pair - 2nd-3rd century AD A matched pair of chariot fittings, each a square-section socle with stepped top and bottom, surmounted by a globular fruit, probably a pomegranate, with splayed leaves and short stalk; thick round-section handle to one side; incised zigzags to the upper and lower mouldings, body with incised garlands. 2.8kg total, 10.5cm (4 1/4”).
