Roman Zeus Labrandeus Statuette - 1st-2nd century AD A bronze statuette of the cult image of Zeus Labrandeus, wearing a wreath to the forehead with sash falling to the back of the head, turban to top of head; oriental features to the bearded face; wearing a loose robe with large necklace to chest with three egg-shaped pendants; arms held forward, originally holding double axe in one hand, lotus tipped staff in the other. 103 grams, 90mm (3 1/2”). Very fine condition. Provenance Property of a private collector; acquired before 1975.
