Graeco-Roman Gemstone with Satyr - 2nd-1st century BC An amethyst plano-convex scaraboid bead with intaglio design depicting a satyr(?) with beard, tail, broad hat and holding a sickle being ridden by a smaller winged figure with outstretched arms. 3.18 grams, 18.07mm (3/4”). Very fine condition. Provenance Property of a London gentleman; acquired by his father in the 1970s; thence by descent.
