Very Large Roman Vine-Leaf Handle with Maenad - 1st century BC-1st century AD A bronze vessel handle comprising a vine-leaf plaque with splayed trefoil above, D-section gently curved handle with raised bulb, divided lower shank with vine-leaf finials flanking a female bust (Maenad?) in three-quart view modelled with diadem and hanks of hair descending to the shoulders, chiton fastened at the left shoulder exposing the right breast. 1 kg, 36cm (14 1/4”).
