Roman Orontes River God Figure - 1st-2nd century AD A bronze figure of the river god Orontes swimming in his element with arms outstretched before and behind his muscular body, head erect and gaze turned slightly upwards, locks of curled hair forming a frame to the face; rectangular tiered base with flared feet. 323 grams, 17.5cm (7”). Very fine condition. Provenance Property of a North London gentleman; previously from a London collection; acquired on the London art market before 1990.
