Late 19th Century Victorian Tiered Burl Wood Veneer and Gilt Wall Mirror - A rectangular wall-hanging mirror featuring a multi-layered deep-well frame. The outer structure is composed of a wide mahogany-toned wooden molding with a polished finish. Inset within this is a secondary decorative band of burl wood veneer, characterized by a complex grain pattern. This section is further embellished with light-colored wood inlays depicting foliate or wheat motifs at each corner and the midpoint of each side. The innermost slip consists of a gilded or silvered beveled section featuring tight vertical fluting. A rectangular glass mirror plate is recessed within the decorative frame. No maker marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the forward-facing surfaces of the object. Width: 16.75 inches.
