A Terracotta Garden Planter and Matching Hunting Dog Motif Thermometer - A large bulbous garden planter and a circular thermometer plaque, both crafted from reddish-orange terracotta. The planter features a thick, rolled rim and is decorated with heavy, hand-applied relief swags consisting of floral bosses and pendant pinecone or tassel elements. A repeating band of impressed geometric diamond and triangle patterns circulates the lower portion of the body. The interior displays a textured, unglazed surface. The matching circular thermometer plaque features a relief-molded dial with raised numerals ranging from -10 to 110. The central field depicts a scene of two hunting dogs in a wooded landscape, with a third dog appearing in relief at the bottom of the dial. It retains a dark metal indicator needle and is shown resting on a wooden display stand. No maker marks, signatures, or factory stamps are visible on either piece.
