Revised Edition. - A set of volumes from The Mother's Encyclopedia, a reference work compiled by the editorial staff of Parents' Magazine and published by The Parents' Institute, Inc., New York. This 1952 printing represents a revised edition of the titles originally copyrighted in 1933 and 1942. The octavo volumes are bound in dark brown publisher's cloth with decorative embossed medallions on the front boards and gilt-stamped lettering and ornamental bands on the spines. The foot of each spine is stamped THE PARENTS' INSTITUTE. According to the internal table of contents, the complete encyclopedia is designed as a six-volume set covering childhood development and parenting topics ranging from Accidents to Worry, with a comprehensive subject index at the end of volume six. The volumes present in this collection include Volume I (A to Competition, pages 1 to 278), Volume II (beginning page 279), Volume III (Fam to Ma, pages 459 to 686), and Volume VI (So to W, pages 1179 to 1386, including the Index). The interior features patterned endpapers and cream-colored text pages.
