Three Volumes. - A trio of bound volumes of Harper's New Monthly Magazine, comprising Volume XXXVII (1868), Volume XLII (1870-1871), and Volume LVII (1878). The volumes are bound in full dark brown and near-black leather, featuring decorative gilt-tooled bands and gold-lettered spines. The spines are lettered HARPER'S MAGAZINE above the volume numbers in Roman numerals: VOL. LVII., VOL. XXXVII., and VOL. XLII. The text blocks are finished with all edges gilt (AEG). One volume is shown open to the Contents of Volume XLII page, which covers the period from December 1870 to May 1871. This volume contains works by various 19th-century authors and illustrators, including S. S. Conant, Katherine G. Ware, Dr. J. B. Holder, Prof. James De Mille, H. M. Alden, R. Stoddard, W. R.
