Byron, George Gordon Noel. The Works of the Right Hon. Lord Byron. R.W. Pomeroy, 1824. Eight-Volume Set. - An eight-volume set of the collected works of Lord Byron, published by R.W. Pomeroy in Philadelphia, 1824. The volumes are uniformly bound in full brown leather featuring elaborate cathedral style blind-stamped architectural designs on the front and rear boards, framed by intricate gilt-tooled borders. The spines are constructed with five raised bands creating six compartments, each heavily decorated with gilt-stamped floral and geometric motifs. The second compartment of each volume contains the gilt-stamped title BYRON'S WORKS and the fourth compartment indicates the volume number, ranging from VOL. 1. to VOL. 8. The text blocks contain several engraved frontispieces and plates by G.B. Ellis, including depictions of scenes from The Giaour and Don Juan. The edges of the text blocks are decorated with a patterned finish, and the endpapers feature a matching decorative design. The title pages include the printed text THE WORKS OF THE RIGHT HON. LORD BYRON. Engraved plates are marked at the lower margin with text reading R. W. Pomeroy, Philad. 1824. and Engraved by G. B. Ellis.
