A Blue and White Ceramic Salt Box and Companion Bowl in the Blue Onion Pattern - This lot features a wall-mounted ceramic salt box and a companion small bowl, both decorated with underglaze blue hand-painted floral and foliate motifs in the Blue Onion pattern. The salt box includes a cylindrical glazed ceramic canister with a flared base, which is attached to a dark-stained wooden backplate. The wooden plate is designed with a trefoil-shaped cutout for wall hanging and is equipped with a hinged wooden lid. The matching bowl is constructed with a flared, scalloped rim and a raised foot ring. The base of the bowl features a faint blue underglaze mark consisting of two crossed diagonal lines (photo 2). This mark is not legible as a maker name. No maker marks are visible on the ceramic salt box.
