Ben Anderson Hand Sculpted Red Earthenware Fish and Clam Relief Platter - An oval red earthenware platter by contemporary ceramicist Ben Anderson. The piece features high-relief, hand-sculpted decorations of four fish and two clams. The fish are finished in dark blue and silvery-grey glazes, while the clams display a mottled green-grey tone. The background is textured with incised concentric oval rings and finished in a greenish-brown glaze. The reverse is coated in a speckled yellow-ochre glaze with an unglazed reddish-brown foot ring and includes a wire for wall hanging. The reverse is hand-incised with the signature Ben Anderson and dated 2004. The lot is accompanied by an artist card for a related 2003 work and a reference photograph. 9.25 inches height x 12.25 inches width.
