Early 20th Century Hand Carved Wooden Bluebill Duck Decoy - This hand-carved wooden duck decoy represents a bluebill or scaup drake. The piece is of two-piece construction with a carved head joined to the body. The upper body and tail exhibit a textured, scratch-carved surface. It retains remnants of original or early working paint, featuring a dark head and tail with grayish-white tones on the sides. The right side of the head is fitted with an inset yellow glass eye. The decoy has a flat-bottomed base with a central hole intended for an anchor attachment. No maker marks, signatures, or labels are present. Overall length: 13.5 inches.
