Foltz Pottery C. Ned Foltz Redware Slip-Decorated Heart Bowl, 1984 - A slip-decorated red earthenware bowl produced by C. Ned Foltz at Foltz Pottery in Reinholds, Pennsylvania. The shallow circular vessel features a crimped pie-crust rim. The interior is finished with a dark brown glaze and decorated with a large yellow slip central heart and a sponged yellow slip border just inside the rim. The exterior remains unglazed, exposing the natural red clay body. The base includes an incised signature for C. N. Foltz along with an impressed circular mark containing a stylized tulip and the words FOLTZ POTTERY REINHOLDS, PA. The date 1984 and a cross symbol are incised below the stamp.
