Magnificent Neo-Archaeological Collar Necklace Set with a Classical Cameo Relief, Turquoise, and Coral - A collar necklace designed in the Archaeological Revival style, characteristic of the splendid Roman goldsmithing of the 19th century (in the Castellani style). At the center of the pendant is a fixed dark carved cameo (intaglio) relief depicting a classical mythological figure in profile. The relief is framed in a gilt mount, above which is a broad triangular element worked in magnificent handcrafted filigree and granulation — densely interwoven gold granules and wire. The pendant is adorned with three large natural gemstones in an organic cabochon cut set in bezel settings: a blue turquoise stone with natural veining at the top, and two deep red coral-imitation stones on either side. The base of the necklace is constructed from braided multi-strand black textile cords that provide a modern contrast, interspersed with gilt metal links with a delicate textured finish and dark glass plaques set near the clasp. • Style: neo-archaeological / Archaeological Revival style. • Materials: cameo relief (lava glass or stone), natural turquoise stone, coral imitation, textile cords, gilt metal. • Structure: sculptural central element combined with multi-strand cord braiding. • In very good condition; the cameo relief is entirely intact with no fractures, the turquoise and coral stones are stable in their settings, the delicate filigree work is completely intact, and the brass/gold has a rich luster. Necklace length: 60 cm. Pendant height: approximately 6 cm. Total weight: 43 g.
