Oil on table. Table measures: 58.5 x 84 cm. 30" x 40" framed. The biblical scene that this composition describes is based on the Old Testament episode in which David brings the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem and worships God with his people, amid great pomp and celebrations (Chapters 15 and 16 of the book of 1 Chronicles 1 Chronicles 15:3 says, "And David assembled all Israel at Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the LORD to its place, which he had prepared for it."
