Carl F. Christiansen Sculptural Pipe Candelabrum - Item/Description: Brutalist mid-century modern sculptural candelabra, designed and manufactured by metal-smith Carl F. Christiansen in Denmark. Piece features a dynamic, fan-shaped arrangement of vertical, hollow silver-plated brass pipes of varying heights, welded to a curved horizontal channel base with integrated circular sockets acting as individual candle receptacles. Impressed maker's mark ”Denmark” to edge. Christiansen was a prominent mid-20th-century Danish silversmith whose innovative, textured tablewares and modernist lighting fixtures captured the structural, avant-garde spirit of Scandinavian post-war decorative design. He operated his silversmith workshop in Copenhagen, Denmark, active from 1943 to 1963.
