Mid-Century Mexican Brutalist Caged Glasses - Item/Description: Set of six mid-century modern shot glasses showcasing the iconic ”imprisoned glass” technique popularized by the designer Felipe Derflingher for Feders in Mexico. Hand-crafted during the 1960s-1970s, each piece features a hand-blown cobalt blue glass liner encased within a textured brass filigree cage. The molten glass was blown directly into the geometric openwork frame, allowing the glass to organically expand and swell through the cutouts to form an integrated, highly tactile structure. Material: Glass, Metal Dimensions: Diameter: 2”; Height: 3 3/4” Condition: Signs of age, use, and wear include patina and minor surface oxidation to the metal work.
