Farberware Hand-Hammered Alluminum Serving Tray - Item/Description: Early 20th-century circular serving tray featuring a hand-hammered aluminum rim stamped with repeating berry and leaf branch motifs. Central ceramic medallion with a glazed underglaze print depicting two Victorian women in period dress seated outdoors, framed by a decorative lace-pattern border. Underside stamped mark reading ”FARBERWARE / BROOKLYN, N.Y.”. Platter is from an early domestic utility line produced by the historic metalware company founded by S.W. Farber. (Antique Farberware Tray, Antique Kitchen Serving Platter) Material: Aluminum, Ceramic Dimensions: Diameter: 16 1/2” Condition: Signs of age, use, and wear include surface oxidation, scuffing. Ceramic has severe structural cracks running through the core alongside heavy crazing and extensive underglaze brown staining.
