Set comprises a master butter knife featuring a carved mother-of-pearl handle, an intricately engraved floral and foliage silver-plated blade, paired with a matching pair of silver-plated shell-bowl butter or jam spoons. S. Smith & Son were prestigious 19th-century London jewelers and horologists celebrated as makers to the Admiralty and the Indian Government, retailing elite personal and dining luxury wares during the height of the British Empire.
