European Renaissance Revival Carved Wood Armchair - Item/Description: Late 19th-century European Renaissance Revival antique armchair. Features a heavily carved ladder-back frame highlighted by a prominent crown and shield crest rail, turned finials, sculpted open armrests, and an elaborately pierced lower stretcher base. Square seat is upholstered and secured to the frame by a border of brass tack detailing. (Antique Parlor Chair, Gothic Revival Ladderback Chair, European Throne Chair, Carved Armchair) Material: Wood, Brass Dimensions: Seat: Length: 21 1/4”; Width: 25 1/4”; Height: 19 1/4”. Back: Height: 46 1/4” Condition: Signs of age, use, and wear include surface scuffs, natural wood grain parting, and minor softening to the joints, while the seat shows cracking, scuffing, and localized material loss along the front edge.
