Victorian Framed Botanical Butterfly Display - Item/Description: Antique late 19th-century Victorian botanical and entomological display. Features a central bouquet of pressed, dried floral specimens and foliage accented by a single white Pieridae butterfly specimen, all mounted against a faded light green fabric ground. Display is housed within a heavy, rectangular wood gesso frame heavily embellished with rococo-revival corner scrollwork and an antiqued gilt finish. Material: Dried Flora, Preserved Butterfly, Fabric, Wood, Glass Dimensions: Image: Height: 7 1/2”; Width: 9 3/8”; Frame: Height: 13”; Width: 15” Condition: Frame shows several areas of visible gesso loss, cracking, and a missing section on the upper right edge.
