Monogrammed signature E.T. to lower right. Set in a custom handcrafted, architectural giltwood compo frame with applied rosette corner roundels. Handwritten to back of the wooden frame: ”The Half Moon” - Hendrik Hudson”. (Seascape, Masted Ship) In September of 1609, English explorer Henry Hudson (Hendrik Hudson) under the commission of the Dutch East India Company (VOC), sailed this vessel into what is now New York Harbor and mapped the Hudson River.
