18th c. Italian Grand Tour Folding Hand Fan - Item/Description: Grand Tour folding hand fan, preserved inside a Rococo-style fan-shaped shadowbox frame. The fan features a classical grand tour mythological or allegorical scene on the leaf (Pavese). Signed ”Fecit Michael Costantini Neapoli 1772”. The Monture (Sticks & Guards) feature openwork carved and pierced bone or shell sticks, accented with subtle metallic gilding. Material: Mixed Dimensions: Length: 23 3/4”; Width: 2”; Height: 15 3/4” Condition: Signs of age and wear include surface scratches, scuffing to frame.
