Napoleon III Double Inkwell & Pen Tray - Item/Description: 19th century French Rococo / Napoleon III Sevres style gilt bronze and painted porcelain double inkstand (desk set) with pen tray. Features twin lidded porcelain ink pots, on a raised platform, flanking a central figural cherub sitting down reading a book. The lower portion has a built-in pen tray inset with a porcelain plaque. Intricate hand-painted landscape and maritime scenes on the porcelain. No noticeable makers marks. (Chinoiserie, Neoclassical, French Decorative Art, French Japonisme) Material: Gilt Bronze, Porcelain Dimensions: Length: 9”; Width: 5”; Height: 4 3/4” Condition: Signs of age and wear include surface scratches, scuffing, discoloration, loss to paint and gilding, pitting.
