USMC WWI Recruitment Poster - Item/Description: Original World War I United States Marine Corps recruitment poster ”Soldiers of the Sea”. The central illustration was painted by Bruce Moore (American, 1905-1980). Signed in plate. It features four Marines armed with M1903 Springfield rifles charging forward across a tropical shoreline, with naval warships anchored in the distance. Framed by 16 black-and-white photographs highlighting the daily routine, training, athletics, technical education, and musical recreation available in a Marine's life.
