Utagawa Kunisada (Toyokuni III) Woodblock - Item/Description: Antique Japanese woodblock print by Utagawa Kunisada, also known as Toyokuni III (Japanese, 1786-1865). 19th-century Japanese ukiyo-e woodblock print depicting a Kabuki actor in a female role (onnagata) or high-ranking beauty (bijin) positioned in front of a scenic river and blooming cherry blossom trees, wearing a beautifully patterned kimono, holding an open folding fan (sakura). Lower right: Artist Cartouche, Block Carver Seal, Publisher Stamp and Censor Seal. Material: Ink on Heavy Paper (Washi) Dimensions: Image size: Height: 14”; Width: 9 3/4”. Unframed.
