Depicting ”Hana-no-en” (Under the Cherry Blossoms) chapter from ”The Tale of Genji”. It captures Prince Genji and several elegantly adorned ladies enjoying a spring evening on a palace veranda. With artist's cartouche / toshidama - Utagawa Kunisada (Japanese, 1786-1864) and carver's and publisher's marks.
