Benish Mininberg - Rural Scene, Israeli Art - Item/Description: Original oil painting features stylized rural scene depicting a figure, in bright blue trousers and a yellow head covering, shearing a sheep. Signed lower left. Benish Mininberg (Israel, 1902-1996). Early in his life, Mininberg studied at the prestigious Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem. In the late 1920s, he operated the ”Institute for Israeli Art of Mininberg & Sons”, which specialized in regional Israeli souvenirs and artwork featuring classic Biblical motifs, landscapes, shepherds, and sheep.
