Theodore Starr Sterling Silver Basket - This sturdy, turn of the century piece by master american silversmith, theodore b. Starr is decorated with cherubs and grapes in high relief. It features 10 panels of cherubs with arched bows, a center cartouche with a larger, finely carved cherub and four ball feet. There are faint initials ”B.P” above the cartouche, and the inner handle is marked ”sterling 2273”. We were unable to discern a maker's mark but the piece is attributable to Theodore Starr. Dimensions: Approximately 10” x 8” x 6”. Weight: Approximately 453 grams. Condition: The basket is free of damage or repairs and retains a rich, dark patina. It has signs of wear and tarnish consistent with age and has not been polished. The hinged handle moves freely and remains in position when raised.
