Signed Religious Painting on Tin - Antique signed C. Del Tufo oil on tin featuring Jesus Christ on the Cross Unframed. This iconic image of Christ on the Cross is in good vintage condition for its age with surface wear, scratches and areas of paint loss, as shown, and oxidation to the back. It depicts a dying Christ surrounded by mourners, saints and a somewhat bewildered looking Roman soldier. The colors are dark and sombre, matching the subject matter. The painting is signed on the bottom right corner, ”C. Del Tufo”. A coat of arms emblem with crossed keys and the initials ”G.R.” is painted in the lower left corner. Del Tufo, a notable 20th century artist was known for portraits and sacred scenes, and we believe this to be circa 1900-1930's. It is approximately 17 1/2” wide x 23 1/4” tall.
