Shabbat / Sabbath meal. Signed lower right: adler. Born in Lodz, Poland to a Hasidic family Jankel Adler was an engraver and painter known for his abstract depictions of figures and still lifes. Favoring Cubism, he was strongly influenced by Picasso and Leger. In 1922 he settled in Dusseldorf where he became a leading figure in the art scene. Material: Oil on canvas, laid on board.
