Frank Palmieri (1922 - 2017) Nude Portrait - Item/Description: Mid-Century Modern partial nude portrait of a woman in heavy, textured oil. Signed lower right. Frank Palmieri (New York, Maine, 1922 - 2017). After service in the Air Force during World War II, he attended the Art Students League on the G.I. Bill, studying under such noted teachers as Reginald Marsh, Ivan Olinsky, Robert Brackman, and Frank Reilly. In 1963 he won the Robert Lehman award, enabling him to study for one year at the National Academy of Design under Morton Roberts. Palmieri was a full-time artist with studios in Ogunquit, Maine, Long Island and New York City. He occasionally gave lectures on his art in the New York area. Material: Oil on board.
