Large Cast Metal Sculpture of Christopher Columbus - Item/Description: Antique patinated bronze finish statue features Christopher Columbus standing with one hand on a rudder and the other holding a scroll. Attached base features a figural panel depicting his landing with ship in the background. Beneath the moveable panel is engraved: ”Columbus 1492”. Unknown artist. No noticeable signature. Mounted on wood base. Material: White metal. Dimensions: Length: 9 1/4”; Width: 6 3/4”; Height: 27 1/2”. Condition: Surface wear, paint specks, age, holes. Damage to wood base. Age: Late 19th to early 20th century. Provenance: Private Estate. Removed from old Milwaukee, Wisconsin mansion in the early 1950s by a demolition company.
