D & S) Sterling Silver four piece set fashioned as a suit of cards in original satin lined presentation box. Hallmarked on each: J. D&S / Crown/ Lion Passant / k ;correlating with the year 1927; serial number Z1885. (Sterling candy / nut dishes; entertaining set, bridge or poker set; English sterling; Sheffield Silver.) J. Dixon & Sons, founded 1806 in Sheffield, England, was a major British manufacturer of the Industrial Revolution; producing silverware, pewterware, electroplated Britannia metal, and electroplated nickel silver. Additonally, they were renowned manufacturers and exporters of shooting accessories through the nineteenth century and also made whistles! Material: Sterling Silver.
