Schutz Marke Symphonion Walnut Music Box & Discs - Item/Description: Rare, 19th Century German music box. Made of walnut and brass. Four bun feet. Colorful inner paper Symphonion label decorated with cherubs in pastel colors. 17 Brass discs with titles including: Edelweiss, The Sidewalks of New York; Laura Walzer; Home Sweet Home; Leizl Rose and other popular German folk songs. Once the push button and turn cranks are engaged the discs spin and play. Hardware stamped: Schutze- Marke Trademark Made in Germany. Material: Walnut, Metal, Brass. Dimensions: Box 16”L x 12 1/2”W x 8”H. Condition: Very Good. Minor surface wear, light scratches to wood. Cracks wood of bun feet. Push button and crank in working condition.The discs show surface wear, patina and some warping. Age: Circa 1880s. Provenance: Private Estate.
