Antique Civil War Painted Metal Frame - Item/Description: Rare, antique American military metal picture frame. Decorated with embossed emblems including crossed swords, rifles, canons, bugles, American flags and a drum. Top adorned with a regal eagle with outstretched wings. No glass or backing; remnants of hardware for standing. Incised stamp on back: 9448. Based on our research, this frame appears to be a prototype for later models manufactured. (Folk Art, Steampunk) Material: Painted Metal. Dimensions: Length: 8 1/2”; Width: 6”; Height: 4”. Condition: Very Good for its age. Colors retain their vibrancy.
