Large Silver Sculpture of a Tall Masted Ship, Nef - Item/Description: 20th Century .915 silver model of a Spanish ship or ”nef”. This impressively large and very detailed three-masted galleon features a pierced gallery and crew on board deck and in crows nests. The hull is decorated in relief and the front is applied with a cast silver stylized sea monster. The deck is applied with cannons. Hallmarked with Spanish silver hallmarks (.915 silver, used from 1934). Hallmarked on upper post flap: B, M, TOI, star in circle. Unknown maker. Tests between .915 silver and .925 - sterling silver) Material: .915 Silver. Dimensions: Length: 33 1/2”; Width: 10”; Height: 27 1/2”. Weight: 180 troy ounces (5598 grams). Condition: Very Good.
