Auguste Moreau French Bronzed Sculpture - Item/Description: Fabulous Art Nouveau statue of a woman by famed French sculptor, Louis Auguste Moreau (1855-1919). Neoclassical barefoot maiden atop a rock, grasping sheaves of wheat. Masterful craftsmanship, flowing robes blown by an unseen wind. Stepped dark green/black marble platform. Artist signed on side of rock base: Aug. Moreau. Material: Bronzed white metal, Marble. Dimensions: Height: 12”; Width: 4” base diameter. Condition: Good. Loss to bronze plating. Surface and age wear, spots of oxidation, abrasions to toes, chipping to underside of base. Two drill holes to marble base. Age: Circa 1900s. Provenance: Private Estate.
