Signed lower right: m. H. Loffler. Ornate gilt wood frame with raised composite scrollwork in high relief. Metal plaque bears artist's name: H. Loffler. On back, handwritten note reads: ”HAND PAINTED ON WOOD PANEL FRANCE, 'ORIGINAL', 1880.” Remnants of old adhesive label and various numbers on back. Hugo Loffler was a German born artist known for his rich landscapes and portraits often with neoclassical themes. Material: Oil on Board. Dimensions: Image size: Height: 11 5/8”; Width: 4 1/2”.
