Martinus Schildt, 19th C. Watercolor-Village Woman - Item/Description: 19th Century signed watercolor by Dutch artist, Martinus (Martin) Schildt. Somber depiction of kerchiefed village woman in period clothing bending over a bucket. Cat in the corner with a tree branch in its claws. Artist signed and dated lower left: M. Schildt, '97. Period painted baroque stepped frame. Martin Schildt was a Dutch painter and draftsman and received the Royal Grant for Painting (1893-1897) for four consecutive years .
