Henry Macbeth Raeburn Pencil Signed Mezzotint - Item/Description: Signed, colored mezzotint of a Scottish Clan Chief by British artist, Henry Macbeth Raeburn (1860–1947) depicts a portrait of Alastair MacDonell of Glengarry (1725–1761), the 13th chief of Clan MacDonell of Glengarry. Raised a Catholic and largely educated in France, MacDonnell was arrested in November 1745 on his way to join the 1745 Jacobite Rising. Artist signed lower left: H. Macbeth- Raiburn. Inscription under work left reads: Published Sept. 1st 1922, by H.C. Dickins, 9 Great Pulteney St. , W.1. London. Bottom left: Printed by H.E. Carling. Material: Paper, glass, gilt wood frame. Dimensions: Image size: Height: 26 1/2”; Width: 16 1/2”. Framed: Height: 34”; Width: 24 1/4”. Condition: Good. Art not examined out of frame.
