Hand carved and painted orange, white, and dark brown. Decorative African mask, Central Africa. Material: Wood, paint Dimensions: Length: 13 1/2”; Width: 7 1/2”; Depth: 6 1/2” Condition: Surface, use and age wear, includes cracks through wood in top and bottom, areas of paint loss. - Punu style hand carved mask. Painted saffron yellow face, brown feature accents. Elaborate hairstyle, straw hanging loop. Material: Hand carved wood, straw, paint Dimensions: Length: 14 1/2”; Width: 9”; Depth: 6” Condition: Surface use age wear includes split by nose, right cheek through and through, crack at top hairline, paint loss, abrasions. - Two-toned decorative mask reflects various styles of West and Central Africa. Lips are typical of Punu, while headdress is stylistically similar to Gabon.
