Bart Markel, AMA Grand National Flat Track Motorcycle Champion (three times), was an aggressive rider and wasn't averse to nudging a rider who was in his way, thereby earning him the nickname 'Black Bart'. In 1998 he was inducted into the Motorcycle Hall of Fame. Heidelberg Raceway was an American auto racing track which was built near Heidelberg, Pennsylvania, near Pittsburgh. It held weekly races and numerous special events between 1948 and 1973.
