Sharps Single Shot Pistol & Civil War Sword - Item/Description: Lot includes an extremely rare breech-loading single shot percussion pistol and field soldier sword. Pistol is stamped on one side: C. SHARPS & CO'S/RIFLE WORKS/PHILA, PA. and on the other: C. SHARPS/PATENT/1848. Sword features brass scabbard and pierced hilt. Both items come from a Civil War soldier's estate. Material: Metal and wood Dimensions: Gun: Length: 10 1/2”; Width: 4 1/4”. Sword: Length: 36 3/4”; Width: 4” Condition: Signs of age, use and wear includes surface scratches, bends and dings to scabbard. Pistol opens well but has not been tested. May be missing parts.
